I have 2 male cats (brothers from same litter). They are both spayed since 7 wks old...

When a cat stops using the litter box, it helps to examine the factors related to the litter box itself. Some cats prefer separate boxes for urination and defecation. Others prefer privacy when defecating. In some cases medical problems lead to irritation in the gastrointestinal tract and may result in soiling. A veterinary examination and providing alternatives to the existing litter box arrangements often help with cats that are defecating outside of the litter box.
