My happy, playful four year old cat is hungry constantly. He has always been slim, but...

It is not normal for a cat to have a voracious appetite and still lose weight. When that happens a medical problem is the likely culprit. Endocrine abnormalities and metabolic disorders are the most common causes for an increased appetite with weight loss. A veterinary examination and blood work are necessary to arrive at a diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is obtained appropriate treatment can be started.
