As a kitten ages, their personality may change and they may become a bit more independent. Using playtime and games to have some quality time often is useful. Many cats like to learn tricks and will come to people for small food tidbits and learn tricks such as “come,” even “sit” and other tasks. Keeping the interactions short and friendly often helps to build trust and increase the time spent with people. Each interaction should end on a positive note with a small food treat and/or a short petting session.
