About 10 years ago or so I adopted a cat named Teddy from a pet shop. Little did I know that I would be a huge cat lover and, tens years later, I would adopt an awesome polydactyl (meaning extra toes) Hemmingway cat named Fonzie, that I fell completely in love with, from the Humane Society . He’s 3 now and our favorite… until this past Nov. 2006 when I came across an orphaned kitten on the street. There was no room at the local shelters and I didn’t want him to be put down, so, much to my and my husband’s surprise, we took him in and called him Chance. Chance was only 4 weeks old when I found him just barely alive and malnourished. And we are now the proud cat owners of three wonderful, healthy cats. Yes, they can be a pain sometimes but I would not trade them for anything in the world.
