Hi there, We have been taken care of an outside (male) cat for a while now. From...

Previous studies have shown a 90% decline in spraying behavior after neutering a male cat. Because marking territory with urine is a normal cat behavior, some cats may continue to urine mark even after they have been neutered. A cat that goes outdoors may only spray when outside, but there is at a minimum a 10% chance of continued spraying even indoors. There are other treatment modalities such as pheromones and medication to help prevent or curtail urine spraying and these can be discussed with your veterinarian.
