How do you get the smell of cat urine out of carpet?

Removing cat urine from carpet and furniture may be difficult. Professional advice should be obtained to protect the material from damage during cleaning. Research has indicated that cleaning products with enzymes and/or bacteria that break down the urine by products do the best job of eliminating the odor left by urine. Often the process has to be repeated several times to fully remove the urine odor. Odor remaining in the carpet padding may make a complete clean up difficult.
