Very young animals and very old animals may not be as efficient at preserving and maintaining body heat as mature animals. Allow places where the animal can be out of drafts and perhaps climb into a smaller area to help conserve body heat can be helpful. When constantly kept in a colder environment, most animals with fur will grow a heavier coat to keep warm.
