No over the counter medications should be administered to a pet without veterinary advice. A cat that was previously healthy and is now defecating 5-10 times a day is likely to have a medical problem. A cat with ongoing diarrhea should have a veterinary examination and blood tests to determine the source of the problem. If these do not lead to a diagnosis then radiographs and/or an endoscopy might be necessary.
