In a home with multiple cats subtle conflicts between cats can influence their behavior. Cats may not share space equally and may feel intimidated by other cats as they try to move around the house and get to the things they need. These items include food and water bowls, litter boxes and resting areas. It is important to have at least one litter box per cat plus one extra and these should be spread through out the house. It is also essential that the boxes be kept very clean by scooping out waste material daily and emptying, washing and refilling them weekly.
