My cat "Ariel" is almost seven years old. She has not been neutered. We got a...



There are several possible explanations for her change in behavior. If she is an intact female and he is an un-neutered male cat who has begun to spray it is possible that she has become pregnant. It is also possible that now that he is spraying in the home he has claimed territory and this has made her anxious. Her anxiety might be the cause for the hiding and over-grooming behavior. A veterinarian should check her over to be sure a medical problem is not the source of the distress and then might be able to offer some solutions to treating her behavioral changes.
