Grooming off whiskers of each other isn’t all that unusual. It does concern me that the behavior just developed after seven years. Probably nothing to worry about BUT--I would recommend as a precaution you check with your veterinarian, especially since I assume this kitty is middle aged or older. Sometimes cats that become anemic develop a craving for eating odd things so the purse chewing and whisker nipping might be related to that. Or not! Best to have the veterinarian give the all clear.
