Squashed Kitty’s routine has changed. In addition, Dipped Tail smells different, as do the kittens, which also make “weird” noises. It’s likely that as much as you try to give the cats equal attention, SK feels slighted by you as well as her sister-cat since now DT’s babies demand lots of time. On top of that, in feline hierarchy, having kittens can raise the status of the mom-cat. So the social standing of both cats may be in flux.
Ensure that there are adequate feeding stations and bathroom facilities for the cats--in opposite sides of the house, preferably. That way they don’t have to share, which can increase tension. It’s also best to segregate mom-cat and kittens away from SK if she’s upset by their presence.
