Although cats are agile creatures, I would be concerned about your cat and his nighttime routine. This high of a jump onto such a hard surface could certainly predispose him to injury or joint disease. He may not show any joint problems now but cats are masters at hiding illness and injuries until things are severe. If possible, I would try to find an alternate pathway or routine for your cat.
