Keeping a kitten isolated for long periods of time is not appropriate nor does it help with bonding to family members. A kitten could be left alone in their safe area over night and for several hours during the day. But, it is essential that a kitten have plenty of interactive time with people so that they become well socialized and learn the appropriate way to interact with their human family. Along with food and water, a kitten needs a litter box and resting area in their safe area.
