At the age of four, your cat should be full grown and not going through a true growth spurt. If she is growing, she is likely gaining weight from putting on fat. I know you may not think she is overweight, but many of us (including myself) believe our cats are healthier weights than they are. You could certainly take your cat in to see your veterinarian and get her weight checked. Your veterinarian could also perform a body condition score check to determine if she is truly over weight. If your cat is a healthy weight, you should be able to feel her ribs and spine easily with gentle pressure and see a slight waist when looking down on her. If she is gaining too much weight, better to act on it now to keep her healthy.
