Bless your heart for taking on this sick little kitten. It is so hard to know what is going on without seeing Penny in person. But I can throw out a couple options. If she did have a parasite, even if it’s not showing up again, it’s not a bad idea to do a repeat worming medicine. Some parasites can really stick around. If her labs and x-rays were normal, I would also think about inflammatory bowel disease. This is an inflammation of the intestines that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss and decreased appetite; it can be one or any combination of these symptoms. This is a very common disease complex and while it is more common in middle-aged cats, I have seen it in young cats (including my own). Treatment can vary but the backbone is often using steroids. At this point, you've done so much, that it would hurt to perhaps try a steroid course at home. It sounds like you have a fabulous veterinarian but it’s always an option as well to get a second opinion; sometimes a new perspective can help. I wish you luck and hope that Penny Lane will turn around for you. Keep us posted.
