My cat is seven-years-old. This question involves her cleaning, or lack thereof, after...

I hate to say it but there are just some cats that do not groom themselves well. This can happen if they are overweight and can't reach their bottom - if so then weight loss is the best course of action. But for many cats, this is just the way they are. At seven years of age, I don't feel there is much you can do at this point to teach her to clean herself. The best thing to do is to help her as much as you can. I usually just gently use a damp washcloth and a fine tooth comb for combing dried chunks out to keep her clean. Wish I had a magic answer for you but it sounds like your doing the best you can!
