My question would be whether Rudy asks to go outside each day or if you instigate the trip? If he doesn’t agitate for the walk, you might forego taking him outside for a day or so and see how he reacts. With the new kitten indoors to keep him company and offer some entertainment, he may not miss the outdoor excursions. But if he does pine to spend time outside, then there’s nothing wrong with the hour daily walk on the leash. You might try offering him an absolutely stunning treat/playtime that he ONLY gets once he’s come inside after a walk. That way he has something to anticipate when he returns, rather than wanting more of the great outdoors.
