There could be many reasons a kitten may begin to yowl including pain, anxiety and fear. If the kitten is not spayed another reason would be that the cat has come into heat. The yowling associated with being in heat is usually accompanied by rolling and rubbing behaviors. These are designed to attract a mate and if the kitten gets outside or lives with an unneutered male cat she could become pregnant. A veterinary visit will help ascertain if the cat is ill, or in heat. Once that determination has been made either treatment or spaying can occur.
